• Use visible text filled with valuable content using keywords.



• Use keywords in text links.



• Use your keywords near the beginning of the page.



• Use header fonts, such as H1, for headlines and subheads containing keywords.



• Use visible text rather than text in images or Flash animation.



• When using Flash, make sure there is html text content and href links mixed in. Search engines cannot read Flash. A Flash site would have no content to index or links to follow. Either provide an html section with text and href links or blend Flash and text on the same page.



• Identify your keywords and use them frequently in the content of your site.



• Avoid designing a site in frames. If you must use frames, try to make the Home page non-frames.



• If your site is in frames, make sure to include content and href links in NOFRAMES. Make sure your section heading pages can be reached via href links.



• Provide unique meta tags for each of your pages. Use words that are found on a page in that page's meta tags.



• Build a site map and place a link on all pages into it.



• Use relevant keywords in alt tags.



• Rather than say "home" for your Home page alt tag, use your company name.



• Use a style sheet to control fonts. Put the style sheet in a file referenced in the html.



• When using javascript, put it in a file and reference it in html.



• Use static html URLs whenever possible. Avoid URLs with Session IDs.



• Do not use image maps, instead use navigation image buttons.
